I bet you’ve seen ‘I wish my wife was this dirty’ scrawled into the covering of dust on a van a million times! And if you own a van this will have no doubt have happened to your vehicle at some point. Well, this isn’t the kind of decoration we’re talking about, this is:

This van is far from pretty and its decoration is amateur. Yet, it’s one of the most valuable vans in the world because of its decoration! It was decorated by the late music legend Kurt Cobain. The van has various spray painted writings such as the title ‘mean machine’ written on the front. Rumour has it that Kurt also scratched his name on the van somewhere. The most notable element is Kurt’s mural of the members of rock band Kiss on its side.

The Hot Wheels Transit Connect was debuted back in 2013 at the SEMA show. It’s as cool on the inside as it is on the outside too. The one-of-a-kind van is kitted out with sleeping quarters, two tablets and a 55” TV!

Now this is what we call a pimped out van! These kind of vans are called ‘itasha’ which translates literally as ‘painful cars’ owing to the fact that they’re supposedly painful to look out. Lots of cool gear is added to each van or car to make it look like an anime creation. This has become a rather popular sub-culture in Japan and itasha owners even meet up from time to time.

This is an art project by photographer Harrod Blank. The pretty pattern is made up of over 2,700 working cameras. It was created to promote the film Automorphosis which revolves around people who make car art – how self-reflective!

Now this is more like what we’re used to it. But instead of cheeky phrases written all over these white vans, an individual has drawn the faces of celebrities in the dirt. The culprit who created these pictures is a bus driver and amateur artist named Robert Burden. Burden has drawn all manner of legends from music stars like Queen to screen icons such as Rita Hayworth.
